Chevrolet Spark reliability

I wanted less vague, more up-to-date car reliability information. So in 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to report on new models sooner and track cars closely as they age.

We've been providing reliability stats for the Malibu, Cruze, and Sonic for a while now. We'd love to do the same for the Spark -- just a matter of getting enough people involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the Spark, for free. I'll share results in this thread when we have them.

A few Spark owners have signed up. With a few more, we could include the Spark in the survey.

My '13 Spark has 6,800 miles already and there have been zero mechanical or electrical problems. The only issue I have is the driver's side door panel rattles when going over bumps, and it may just be a fastener that came loose. Aside from that, no problems. I will definitely join your site once I rack up some more miles on the car.

My Spark just hit 7,000 miles this week and so far, no problems either. The only issue I've had was the air conditioner compressor being replaced, but that was a factory defect and not a wear and tear issue.

Now 14 2013 and 4 2014 Sparks signed up. Another half-dozen of each and I could add them to the reliability survey.

Help get your year included:

Greetings,
I have a 2014 Spark Manual Transmission with 5100 miles. I just had my first Oil Change and service. I drive daily in the Virginia mountains and have a lifetime fuel mileage of 37mpg and in the last 400 miles 38.4 mpg. I use the best mid-range fuel that I can buy. One time I accidentally filled with high test and my local mileage was over 40mpg. This puts it up there with my Jetta diesel which gets 44mpg local or hwy. Now for a list of all the problems. No problems.

Good to hear they're not having any problems when new. I'd expect this, but you never know

On mpg, it's going to matter a lot how the car is driven. Go easy on the pedals and drive where stops aren't too frequent, and over 40 should be doable.
