International movers

Hi, I'm moving from the USA (Illinois) to France and would like to ship some of my furniture, clothes, and books. I've looked through some old topics about shipping companies here, but I just wanted to see if anyone has the latest recommendations on shipping companies. I work with a shipping company (an international network of movers? based in new York) right now, and they are very bad at answering my calls and emails. I'm considering changing shipping companies, but before I start searching, I just thought I'd check with the forum. Thanks for any recommendations/opinions.

You might try asking some of the local moving companies that are part of the large national chains of movers. Many of them do international moves - and honestly, they don't do the whole move themselves. They each have some affiliation with one of the big international network companies, which then hand off the shipment to a local mover on the other side of the pond.

Hi there, I can recommend you one moving company. In my opinion they are the best and also have the reasonable prices. I used their services twice. First, they helped me with moving to London from Chicago. Then I moved from UK to France. These both times, this removal company London was happy to help me over the entire process of the move. They provide international and local moves. They were exceptionally well coordinated and the move into new house was completed in a couple of days. This company provided packing and unpacking services, provided all boxed and moving materials, ensured that all my stuff would be transported safely. So, take a look at this company if you need to move.
