2018 Spark - factory fill oil??

I just purchased a new 2018 Chevy Spark 1LT! I heard that the first oil change should take place between the 1000-1500 mile mark, to flush out any new engine shavings. My questions are:

1) Is that too soon to change the oil?
2) Does the 2018 Spark come filled with synthetic or semi-synthetic oil? The dealer said it was semi-synthetic.

(The new 2018 calls for OW-20 oil - not the 5W-20. I plan to use Mobil 1 OW-20 with Dexos.)

With 152 miles showing on the odometer, I decided to fill-up with 87 octane at Costco, a Top-tier fuel, with 10% or less ethanol added. I did the math and calculated 40 mpg. I'm a fairly modest driver, though I am meticulously varying engine speeds to break it in.

3) Will the Spark benefit - cleaner engine, better fuel mileage, etc. - by using premium fuel? Or is it a sheer waste of money?
