Details about the 2013 Chevrolet Spark have been revealed today, including its price range. Chevy is looking to simplify the car buying process by having three trim levels for its well-equipped subcompact.
Chevrolet calls the 2013 Spark a “sporty, fuel-efficient, four-passenger, five-door hatch” that apparently offers more passenger and cargo space than other mini cars such as the Fiat 500, Smart fortwo and Scion IQ.
The Spark’s base model, the LS starts at $12,995 and is equipped with a 1.2L Ecotec engine and five-speed manual transmission. Additionally, even the base Spark has 10 airbags and features 60/40 split rear seats, air conditioning, power windows, rear window wiper, auxiliary input jack, outside temperature display and trip computer. Not bad for a base model subcompact.
The next step up for the Spark is the $14,495 1LT package which adds a 7-inch color radio screen and other convenience features such as power door locks with remote keyless entry, theft deterent system, outside power mirrors, floor mats, visor mirrors, and cruise control.
The 2LT adds 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, and an upgraded interior with leatherette, and heated seats. The 2LT package also comes with an exterior appearance package that features silver painted roof rails; chrome lift gate handle, exhaust outlet and beltline molding; body-color lower rocker molding; front and rear body-color sport fascias with unique front upper and lower grille inserts. The 2LT Spark costs $15,795
All models of the Spark do not come with automatic transmission, which costs $925 to equip. The only other available options include an engine block heater for $75 and Black Granite paint for $195.
