2014 Chevrolet Spark EV – Review

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is all set to hit the roads with an an electric heart. This will be the earliest vehicle in its segment to offer SAE Combo DC Fast Charging capability that will help the Spark to get an 80 % charge in less than 20 minutes. This will make the Spark among the electric vehicles and Chevy hopes to keep the prices low and impress customers with faster charging times. 2014 Chevy Spark was unveiled at LA Auto Show ahead of its time. Only select markets will get to see the Spark EV in the coming months. The exact price is still not revealed but it will kept below than $25,000.

Exterior and Interiors



2014 Chevrolet Spark look stylish from both inside and outside. Well fitted with aerodynamic improvements, it is the redesigned front fascia with a closed grill that will catch your eye first. A look at the inside and you will find features like bright electric blue color accents and leatherette mix. There is a sporty cockpit with seven-inch LCD screen offering a vast variety of gauges along with infotainment and information. The passenger space of 86.3 cubic feet, makes for comfortable space for all.



Engine and Performance

Take a look under the hood and you will find an electric motor producing 130 horsepower and an amazing 400 pound-feet of torque. Clearly, this is a much more powerful machine as compared to its predecessor. Spark EV gets its power from a superior battery and electric motor system. Its speedy charging capacity makes it one of the smallest EV packages. The battery pack size is smaller as compared to other electric cars, but 2014 Chevy has very good aerodynamics and the 20-kw-hour lithium ion battery pack offers more vigor. The complete electric subcompact puts out 400lb-ft of torque and can touch 60MPH well under 8 seconds. This is sure a lot of pep for a small car.

Safety for driver and passengers is the top priority in 2014 Chevy and therefore you will find the technology here that will help you be in control. Find safety features like Electronic Stability Control System, Hill Start Assist that help you keep the control over slippery and inclined surfaces.
