Just wondering if anybody did their own oil change yet or attempted to? Seeing this video shows just how much space there is to work with and just to get the filter out. Guess ill be going to the hardware store to look for a thin profile filter wrench.

I just changed mine this past weekend. I picked up an oil filter wrench like this one:

Pennzoil 19902 - Filter Wrench | O'Reilly Auto Parts

at Oriellys auto parts for 6 bucks. Without it, I could not have gotten the little bugger out of there. Absolutely NO room to work with in there. Went 6740 miles before it told me to change the oil.
Good tip, I doubt there is any real DIY or anything on how to change the Chevy Spark's oil yourself, although it's an easy process to some of us, to newbs it's not.

What oil filter did you buy? and what brand and grade of oil did you use?

Changing the oil on any car is pretty much common sense. All you have to know is where the drain plug is and where to fill from and the filter location and removal. And for the oil and which filter you can go to a local auto parts supply store and tell them which make and model you have.

I went 9130 miles before code 82 popped up. I wonder what all it is calculating?

The oil change is pretty easy. I drove my Spark up on some garden stones stepped two high to have a little room underneath.

15mm drain bolt size, used a pliers styled oil filter wrench that fit up there just fine. There isn't much room to rotate, so just be patient and use 1/10 turns at a time until it is loose enough to remove by hand.

A little over 3.5 quarts fills it to the middle of the hash marks on the dipstick.

Interesting. On my Spark it took exactly 4 quarts, which is what the manual calls for. Yes the filter is tight and I wish there was a little more room.
