So after reading the below about CR saying the Spark EV is the best Spark yet, will this help push some of you more towards buying a Spark EV over the gasoline engine Spark?

With the opportunity to purchase one of the most affordable EV's in the industry at the moment, I think this is a hard one to pass up!

With a sub 8-second zero to sixty time, achieved with the help of 130hp and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque, the all-electric ChevySpark EV offers an interesting proposal in the often dull world of green cars. All this, while offering a competitive range for its class/size/price, courtesy of a decent-sized 21.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, of 82 miles (131 km), as per the EPA.

However, there’s more to the Spark EV than first meets the eye, and Consumer Reports says it’s easily the most desirable variant to have, as the gasoline-powered ones lack power and refinement. Furthermore, it gets a tweaked suspension that improves its handling, as well as many Volt-sourced systems, like some of the gauges and the driver interface.

Finally, finished in the pale baby blue GM has wisely chosen for it, and in conjunction with the minor styling tweaks and unique rims, the Spark EV is not a bad looking pod for city dwellers to commute.

It's not even that expensive (in California and Oregon where it's going on sale first, that is), as the car costs $27,495, yet buyers will get as much as $10,000 back through tax credits.

The only downside is that it cannot be fast-charged due to the lack of an on-board system, so if you buy one of these, you'll have to wait as much as seven hours for it to be topped up, if the battery is close to being depleted and you have a 41-mile round trip planned for the next day.
