Is the Chevy Spark good in winter weather conditions?

What have you done to prepare your Spark for winter (winter tires, pre-winter tune-Up, engine block heater, etc) ?

I've owned my Spark since November, and live in Madison, WI. It's been through one blizzard and several snow storms (most recent was yesterday). I've been able to get around town just fine, the traction control feature is really helpful. :3

almost any car will be good in winter weather but the spark being fwd helps. rwd cars can be a headache sometimes since the tail likes to do it's own thing.

the spark with good winter tires should be all you need, even with cheap entry level winter tires, you'll be fine.

so true.... the first time i drove in the winter i wasn't aware of how bad the all seasons tires i had were until i read an article on saw a few video's on how much safer you are driving with winter tires.

the $400-500 you pay for brand new winter tires which will last you 4-5 seasons if you don't drive like an idiot is well worth it.

Having winter tires helps. Also the spark being so light weight ensures that it wont get stuck in the snow. Just don't go fast and try to turn as the car is so light it just skips over the snow.

My guess for the Chevy spark is that since its a compact i wouldnt think it would have any problems driving in the snow like any other vehicle. But one thing is that the spark is a little bit on the lighter side.

A few thigs you should check regardless if the vehicle is new or not is making sure your cars maintenance is up to date before you start going out to battle the snow store. Simple check like if the battery is in good condition so it doesnt die on you, brake system, tire pressure, defroster, wipers and most importantly... Windshield washer fluid! carry an extra bottle guys. after all that your Spark should have not issue running through the storms. Winters tires is a must too for traction.

Where I live they don't Plow most the roads after it snows. So right now there is almost a foot of snow on some roads. I just have all seasons on my car. It does fairly well in the snow though. I just wish when you shut the traction control and stabililink off they where completely off

I would highly recommend a set of winter tires for those who live North of the Snow Belt, they are well worth the money and I can't count how many times I've been able to drive right out of a parking spot while others were spinning their tires.
