Love it - might help people understand electric motors have all their torque available at 0 RPMs
I bet that someone will add a gas cooling system, such as CO2 or even N2, to reduce the coil resistance and run more current to get a higher torque output, maybe for a street racer. This new EV has a lot of potential for modifications if done correctly. The 400 ft-lb of torque is a design limitation, i.e., the motor is capable of more but the engineers limited it to prevent excessive depletion of the battery charge.
Torque is proportional to the current passed through the windings (up to a limit which is governed by the winding cross section, magnetics of the rotor and heat management).
