Hey everyone! Tryna convert my 2015 Spark into a camper by popping out all seats but the driver's. Problem is, removing the passenger seat throws up a Code 95, illuminates the SRS malfunction light, and, to my understanding, disables the airbags throughout the rest of the car. It's also my understanding that a resistor can be used to bypass the lack of a proper seat.

If this is true, my questions are:

1.) How many ohms should the resistor I need be rated for?
2.) If the specifics ohms aren't known, what instrument should I use to safely measure the necessary resistance?
2.) Will I need to do bypass the passenger detection pressure bladder system, and/or any other system, as well?

If this is not true, what steps should I take to achieve airbag functionality without a passenger seat? I see a lot of potential in Sparky and am excited to give this project a go. Thanks for any help!

I don't think this car would make a good "camper". I have never heard of such a thing but a spark is not even big enough to lay down in. I can't imagine trying to sleep in one of these cars. A cheap tent would be more comfortable.

Anyways; Removing the passenger seat and trying to rig the airbags to still work properly is just not a good idea. If you are going to remove the seat it would be better to just let the car go ahead and disable the airbag system all together. Or you can keep trying and maybe end up causing them all to blow at once.

And once that light comes on it is often not easy to get it off. I am not sure about the spark but on other cars I have owned and swapped out seats in a trip to the dealership to have them reset the system was required.
