Factory chip protectant, then painted over. Common on a lot of cars. Just drive it. 
Pickup bed liner on lower body.
Still waiting for delivery of a 2022 LS, and was planning to mask off and apply a two part bedliner to the lower body and doors below the thin black line in the photo. I took a close look at an LT in a parking lot today and noticed that there's something already on the rocker panels that looks like bedliner underneath the finish coat of paint. Can someone elaborate on that?

Jeezum Crow, first I ever noticed it. The plastic chip guards on my Pontiac Vibe did a great job of preventing chips, but also a great job of trapping salt water against bare metal and hiding the damage until the rockers crumbled into rust. Good to know! Applying bedliner would have been a pain in the butt.Factory chip protectant, then painted over. Common on a lot of cars. Just drive it.
