First post here. I was wondering if 185/65/15 tires will fit my '13 Spark LS with the base 5-spoke aluminum wheels? Been shopping for winter tires as the prices usually go up around December, and all of the usual suspects (General Altimax Arctic, Bridgestone Blizzak, Michelin X-Ice) come in 185/65/15 not 185/55/15. I understand that the speedo will be off by 6% when switching to the larger tires, but will there be any other issues? Also, is there any way to calibrate the speedometer with a Tech-II or other tool?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am looking at the General Altimax Arctic in 185/65/15 from TireRack. Too bad they don't have these tires in 185/55/15, or else I would buy them today.

AnneK,

I ended up swapping my rims so I never found out the answer to this question. However, I can say that with a decent set of tires, the difference is night and day. With the stock tires you can barely get out of any snow drifts. Now I can park almost anywhere.
